6484686: The next directory looks like it is no longer part of the build (deploy makefiles) Summary: Getting rid of the _OUTPUTDIR settings. Using BUILD_PARENT_DIRECTORY instead. This solves problems with the "/build/windows-i586*" paths getting mangled on Windows builds (fastdebug builds in particular). Reviewed-by: tbell

* CDATA sections are used to escape blocks of text containing characters that
7f561c08de6b Initial load

* recognized in a CDATA section is the "" string that ends the CDATA

* section. CDATA sections cannot be nested. Their primary purpose is for
7f561c08de6b Initial load

* including material such as XML fragments, without needing to escape all

7f561c08de6b Initial load

    53
* that, depending on the character encoding ("charset") chosen for
7f561c08de6b Initial load

* serialization, it may be impossible to write out some characters as part
7f561c08de6b Initial load

7f561c08de6b Initial load

*
The
CDATASection
interface inherits from the
7f561c08de6b Initial load

*
CharacterData
interface through the
Text

7f561c08de6b Initial load

7f561c08de6b Initial load

* therefore possible to have the character sequence
"]]>"

7f561c08de6b Initial load

* in the content, which is illegal in a CDATA section per section 2.7 of [XML 1.0]. The
7f561c08de6b Initial load

* serialization or the cdata section must be splitted before the

7f561c08de6b Initial load

*
Note: Because no markup is recognized within a
7f561c08de6b Initial load
duke

*
CDATASection
, character numeric references cannot be used as
7f561c08de6b Initial load

* an escape mechanism when serializing. Therefore, action needs to be taken
7f561c08de6b Initial load

    70
* when serializing a
CDATASection
with a character encoding
7f561c08de6b Initial load
duke
parents:
diff changeset
    71
* where some of the contained characters cannot be represented. Failure to
7f561c08de6b Initial load
duke

diff changeset
    72
* do so would not produce well-formed XML.
7f561c08de6b Initial load
duke
parents:
diff changeset
    73
*
Note: One potential solution in the serialization process is to
7f561c08de6b Initial load
duke
parents:
diff changeset
    74
* end the CDATA section before the character, output the character using a
7f561c08de6b Initial load

    75
* character reference or entity reference, and open a new CDATA section for
7f561c08de6b Initial load
duke

    76
* any further characters in the text node. Note, however, that some code

* conversion libraries at the time of writing do not return an error or
